Copywriting FAQs

Why should I hire a copywriter?

Many businesses make the mistake of putting their content on the backburner, prioritizing other elements of their internet marketing mix and thinking that anyone on their team can throw together some content and do a bit of writing. However, creating compelling content that is tailored to your target audience is not everyone’s forte, yet is critical to ensure your communications are effective. The other factor to consider is that a professional copywriter also has a deep understanding of content uses for different mediums. The copy for a press release and the copy for a blog post take very different stylistic approaches.

How many rounds of edits will be needed?

Generally, only one or two rounds is needed. The more information you can provide at the outset of the projects the better, however, it will depend on how much back and forth is needed to get the details right.

How quickly can you get my content done?

Turnaround depends on a variety of factors. Firstly, how much content work is needed and secondly, how quickly we can get the feedback we need and how the communication process goes throughout the project and finally we need to schedule the work which is somewhat dependent on other client commitments. If you do have a particular deadline you are working with, let us know at the start of the project and we will discuss further and make every effort to work with you to make your timeline.

What if I don’t know what keywords to focus on?

If you haven’t done any formalized keyword research, our search marketing services may be a good place to start.

What kind of tone do you use?

As a general rule, we favor casual, direct language that speaks to people (and your target audience) in the way that they actually talk. We avoid too much industry jargon and technical terminology unless the target is really savvy. However, we will discuss with you prior to starting any copywriting project what kind of tone you are looking for and what kind of personality your brand has. Ultimately, you direct us in how you want things to sound.

How do you price your copywriting services?

We base our costs on how much content work is required, whether any research is needed and whether we are creating content from scratch or working from a draft that needs polishing. We provide custom estimates for every copywriting project. We will charge fixed fees for some work where the scope can be defined and hourly or from a retainer for other projects.

We’ve got some content drafted, but we need it to be polished and optimized for search . Can you help?

Yes, whether you require writing from scratch, or would like us to work from an existing draft that you have created, we can take it to the next level.

I have a news (press) release I would like to send out. Can you do this for me?

Yes. We specialize in writing and distributing news releases and would be happy to do this on your behalf. If you happen to be in the web hosting services industry, we offer press release distribution to our internal industry list at no additional charge. We also generally distribute our releases through PRWeb.

Do you resell written content?

No, never. Each content piece commissioned for a client is owned by that particular client. Using resold content has negative SEO impacts and we’d never recommend it.
