Website Administrator

Summary of Role

We are a B2B online advertising agency searching for a full time (30 hrs per week contract) enthusiastic, independent, organized and motivated website coordinator with either a background or interest in online marketing. You must also be comfortable with data and simple reporting tools and have a general understanding of and interest in technology and online marketing. This contract position for a minimum of 6 months, will require working remotely much of the time however some time will be spend in the owner’s home office.

As a website administrator, you will be accountable for achieving specified goals and working through the various operational tasks assigned to you. This position is being funded by the federal government of Canada and as such, it has specific requirements which are listed below. These requirements are mandated by the program and therefore all program criteria must be met. The successful applicant will be one who fits the requirements of the role as described below but who also fit the criteria of this federal program and are subject to final government approval.

Criteria of Federal Program

  • Applicant must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive);
  • A post-secondary graduate;
  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations; and

Primary Responsibilities

Website Management

  • Review and report on Google Analytics statistics
  • Summarize data to be used for billing purposes and internal decision making
  • Answer website inquiries and liaise with existing vendors
  • Ensure data integrity is maintained for all vendors
  • Register with relevant affiliate programs
  • Manually approve all vendors
  • Manage backend of website
  • Review, evaluate and help to make decisions based on analytics data – primarily from Google Analytics

Secondary Responsibilities

Administrative Tasks

  • Organize and maintain current vendor, publisher and client contact management database
  • Manage list of transactions requiring billing
  • General administrative tasks related to client management
  • Research and other special projects as needed from time to time

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Basic knowledge of websites maintenance
  • Excellent organizational skills: must be able to manage a variable workflow with many priorities, have a strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Diligent with follow up
  • Very proficient with computers, MS Office, instant messenger and internet tools
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data and analysis using Excel.
  • Excellent business writing and interpersonal communication skills and abilities
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English are essential
  • Comfortable speaking with clients over the phone
  • Beginner knowledge of Google Analytics

Working Environment

  • Will be working remotely from a home office most of the time
  • Applicant must live within the GVRD area
  • Applicant must have access to a laptop computer and either a land line or a cell phone and be prepared to use it for occasional business use
  • Applicant must be comfortable with a small business environment and have a flexible schedule
